The light-output of modern LEDs varies from 60 to 100 Lumen per Watt. Conventional incandescent lamps merely reach 10 to maximum 15 Lumen per Watt. Accordingly consumers can multiply the Wattage of an LED by the factor 8 to get an approximate comparison to conventional lamps. The light output of a 5 Watt LED lamp is approximately equivalent to a 40 Watt incandescent lamp.
