Halogen Bulbs - Origins
Halogen lamps, invented in the early 2000s, have long been dominant, used in nearly every household because they are considered much more energy-efficient than incandescent bulbs. Halogen lamps are, in fact, an improvement over traditional incandescent bulbs. These consisted of a single filament, lacking thermal protection, and quickly overheated and eventually burned out.
Traditional light bulbs are now a thing of the past, unable to provide adequate indoor lighting and requiring similar maintenance. Unsurprisingly, halogen lamps remain a staple in many Polish homes, offering significantly better performance.
Halogen Bulb Features
Unlike their predecessors, halogen bulbs are filled with an inert gas (usually mixed with iodine or another halogen) that continuously regenerates the tungsten filament and converts the gas itself into clean energy. This results in longer bulb life, higher efficiency (requiring less frequent replacement), and improved light quality. Halogen bulbs have a lifespan of up to 2,000 hours and consume approximately 20% less energy than their predecessors. However, with the dramatic change brought about by LED lighting, the future of halogen bulbs is bleak.
Advantages of LED Lighting
Today, LED module technology leads the lighting landscape. This most energy-efficient and convenient solution is available as a single bulb or as a light strip, easily installed anywhere in the home, such as in a partition recess or under a bathtub. LED light strips are available in a variety of colors.
Ease of installation and use aren't the only advantages of LEDs. These lamps offer an exceptionally long lifespan, compact size, and adjustable brightness and color, easily adapting to the user's natural biorhythm and directly influencing their mood, health, and mental state. The Sizzano is one such lamp. Its Multi-LED technology offers four luminous flux and power settings, increasing versatility and practicality while minimizing the number of indicator lights. This lamp was recognized with a 2022 Red Dot Design Award for its high-end design, environmental friendliness, and innovative technical solutions.
LEDs Take LEDs to the Next Level
Today, a growing number of luminaires equipped with advanced LED modules are available on the market, providing high-quality lighting for indoor and street infrastructure. Lena Lighting's Tiara LED and Tiara LED Pro series are a prime example. They intelligently illuminate streets and are compatible with the ClueCity remote management system.
Thanks to these measures, cities equipped with Tiara LEDs can achieve energy savings of up to 70%. The ClueCity system, along with its accompanying indoor system, ClueIn, intuitively operates luminaires to meet users' real-time needs: circadian rhythms (natural biological rhythms), providing optimal operating conditions during both day and night.
